Enjoy the view from the beach Lungomare dei mille, the southernmost point of the Italian peninsula. On the rock face of Monte Calvario is the mysterious and fascinating ghost town of Pentedattilo, abandoned after the catastrophic earthquake of 1783. The small center can only be reached on foot. Some areas of the town have been partially restored. A night visit is possible only in August, when the village paths are illuminated. Not to forget the mountain village of Bova, located at an altitude of 820 meters, which offers an incomparable 360 degree view over the mountainous National Park and the Strait of Messina to Etna and the Ionian Sea. The castle of Sant'Aniceto, dating back to the Byzantine period, is located in an isolated position and is undoubtedly worth a visit.
